What is Your Current JLPT Level?
Find out here with the LingoClass JLPT Level Test
A lot of students begin studying Japanese in their own time or pick up language by travelling in Japan or even watching Japanese TV shows. This is a great way to self study but it means that people often don't know their current JLPT level.
For people who don't know, JLTP stands for "Japanese Language Proficiency Test" and is the prevailing standard by which one's Japanese language level can be judged for employment or study purposes. It's also just a good way for students to know what they should study next as many Japanese language textbooks follow the JLPT level content.
The beginner level is N5 and the highest level is N1. By using the test below, you can get a better understanding of where you currently are in the spectrum. To take it, simply answer all the questions you can and skip the ones you can't. Based on your answers, one of our teachers will let you know what level you are by email. Please note this is a totally free service and comes with no obligations to book a course with us, although you are most welcome to.
Good luck!
While this test can give us a good idea of your current level, it is very difficult to assess someone comprehensively based on 14 text based questions alone. If you would like to have one of our teachers test you properly, please reach us by using the contact form or chat function at the bottom of this page.
